Private Track Day
Had a "private" track day at SIC for the whole of today's afternoon.
Why "private"?
Because I literally have the whole track to myself.
Was invited for this by one of my club members and I somewhat agree to go with the condition, if there is no traffic I will participate.
When I arrive at the track today, there is not a single soul to be seen and I quickly pay up and jump into my car and then bring it out on the track.
It was a very fun session except for the horrible time of 3:04s that I posted.
My personal best is 2:55s
Maybe I am not being serious or I am out of touch lately?
Hmmm....
More about this later as I am so damn tired now after an eventful day.

Adios !!

Some hope?
Finally managed to meet up with them.
The meeting almost go south. Luckily I am able to think before I act. Previously, I would have turn the whole place upside down.
The rational me manages to work out something with them in order for this problem to be solve.
As this saturday is a public holiday, they agreed to tune the car next week.
A test run on a dyno dynamics dyno machine earlier shows a peak output of 122 HP which translated to about 125 PS.
Hmmm.. but something inside me is not feeling right. Felt like something is gonna happen but I don't know what.
Should I just take out this cams and forget about it or give them a chance to prove it to me?
Hmmm...
Decisions decisions decisions...

WTF..
The tacho bounce of a virtual rev cut at 4.5k tonight.
It happens randomly, but it is especially apparent on 4th gear.
FUCK the product.
No choice.
Will be filing the consumer tribunal claims tomorrow instead of next week.

Decided
As mentioned before here, my patience has ran out.
I am now in the midst of collecting the paper work necessary to begin officially filing a claim with the Consumer Tribunal of Malaysia.
The car runs so fucked up that I begin to wonder why am I ever remotely interested in this piece of shit previously.
I can't wait for the day where I swap the cams back to stock.
Damn........

The Result is out
The result is out.

Red is my stock cam profile.
Blue is the Works Performance Cam without dyno tuning.
Green is the Works Performance Cam with on-dyno tuning.
What say you guys?
A performance cam putting out way lesser power then a stock cam?
Hmm...
Cams problem or engine problem now?
Just for everyone's information, the engine has just only been rebuild.
:)
If it is not clear let me know and I will re-upload a clearer version.

Cross my fingers...
So far everything seems fine.
Even after hard trial runs, the lights stays off.
It came on for all the wrong reasons (hopefully) which cleared off after some troubleshooting.
Hopefully I don't see this anymore for this case.

It take some getting used to especially taking off from standstill.
Some adjustment need to be done on how to take off smoothly.
On the highway run, I do not feel the urgency that I can feel before this went in.
Maybe the limited time that we have to tune?
Or is it the wrong settings?
I'm not sure but what I can be sure is that the next few days will be spent trying to get the best possible settings.
Now, lastly, is it possible to try and mask the sound and also try to get it to idle as smooth as possible?

A surprised..
A surprised indeed.
Been expecting about 117 to 118 region after rebuild but i got 120.
The torque is at a high 15.4 kgs
A look at the graph shown an improvement of 5% across the range.
Hmm....
Maybe it is worth it after all?

Expecting...
Felt like it and went out blasting half a millennia of horsepower down the highway.
Miss that adrenaline rush so much. The feeling of barreling down the empty highway and terrorizing wannabe's.
Ended up with a sore left leg due to that supremely extremely heavy clutch that is yet to be replaced with a more civil one.
=P
Some of the picture taken last weekend.

Maybe I should just get a full body shot of this monster together with a lovely lady?
*Laughs*
Another good news is that my other ride is being fast tracked out from the ward.
Should be getting it back within 24 hours or so from now.
Kinda miss ridding in this too.
Indeed a nice weekend to look forward to?

Passing the buck..
So after the past week of laying low or so, it is indeed done me lots of harm.
If I would have known that this is how solving a customer problem will be, I would not have purchase the product in the first place putting me in this much hassle.
Now it just confirm what I have been believing so far, if something fails, blame the customer.
Nice ain't it?
:)
Will update more as per the reply I will be getting.

Of good-byes and hellos
All meetings will have an end and it is now the end.
It's time to say good bye.
Been nice going places with you during this 1 year we are together.
You kept me safe and sound and now I have to say goodbye reluctantly.
Thank you for your service. You will be missed.
It's now time to say hello to a new one in my life that will keep me safe and sound throughout my journey through life.
Bye-bye, its been great riding with you.

Things to do...
There is a few things that I would need to settle.
First is the club participation in this event here.
ICE MAg Battle Royale 2010.
After much consideration, I have decided to pull the club out from the event.
Reason is that the club is not prepared for this kind of showcase yet and also not in this type of showcase where mainly the focus is on audio and not "performance" oriented products.
Another thing that is currently bugging me is that a certain someone is not really happy with me.
Usually I am not bothered by this but because this certain someone is special to me as I wanted to try to bring our status to another level, hence my unhappiness.
Ah well, let me just settle what I can first and take it one step at a time.

Bad trip?
Went for the usual drive again.
This time with a twist.
I dislocated my car front bumper coming out from Selayang.
Damn speed bump is covered with water and caught me out.
Maybe because I am already drowsy and could not see it coming?
A landing thud that manages to keep me awake till home.
Somehow this thud also triggers something that I would preferred to be kept buried.
I don't know.
Somehow half regretted going for this drive, not because of the company but because of the thud that triggers the reaction after that.

Butt itchy.

During the night.

And below is a partial car-butt shot for you to compare.
Without pressing the brakes.

With the brakes pressed.

So yeap, I am in the race to get back my "ayam" mod king title.

[Review] Pumatec Perform 680C Brake Pads
If you guys remember earlier I posted that my brake system need a replacement?
Here to refresh your memory.
Fortunately, even though the disc is in a bad condition, it is still very much workable.
So instead of the entire system, just the brake pads need changing.
The reason why I keep getting the metal scrubbing sound is because my brake pads is way thinner then this.

My usual choice will be Rapid Stop 550c brake pads.

But this time, instead of choosing my usual choice, I decided to give Pumatec Perform brake pads a try.
This Pumatec Perform brake pads is rated at 680C as compared to Rapid Stop 550C.
The packaging.

Fitting the pads is standard procedure. Take out the old pads and in with the new.
Easy as 1 2 3.
I will post up soon on how you can DIY.
The pads upon fitted on my car.

Now is the part everyone is waiting for. How does it perform?
Generally as we "petrolheads" know, the higher the maximum temp of a brake pad, the poorer the performance from cold.
This is no difference. It take slightly longer to warm it up as compared to Rapid Stop.
I have to remind myself every morning to warm my brake pads as I am leaving my house in order not to repeat the history where I almost rear ended my neighbor car while she is reversing out from her porch.
I stomp on the brakes and yet my car is still moving forward as compared to Rapid Stop where my car stop on the dot.
PHEW !!
So I suggest to those who are forgetful, paste a note on your windscreen.
LOL
Just kidding.
Anyway lets get back on track.
I had a chance to bring this pad for some serious braking trip to my usual test "track". Those in the know will know what I meant by test "track"
With the pads warmed up, I can brake later and harder going into corners compared to Rapid Stop due to the Pumatec Pads higher temp rating and also the composition of the material used.
I felt that this Pumatec Pads has more bite when compared to Rapid Stop because I just need to "tap" instead of "press" to slow the car down.
Maybe its just my car as I have yet to try other Satria Neo with the same pads.
Upon completion of the first half of the "track", the pads is still biting even after some hard abuse although the first half of the "track" did not really tax the brakes much.
Taking a short half-time break, its time then to complete the second half of the "track".
This is where the braking system of any vehicle will be tested to the max.
And I can say this brake pads pass with flying colors as when I reach the second checkpoint, the brake is still biting and stopping the car. No brake fade at all when compared to the previous Rapid Stop when driven the same way, I will experience brake fade by the time I reach the first checkpoint.
So the conclusion is?
Would I recommend this brake pads?
Yes I would IF the driver of the car like hard and late braking.
Just remember to warm it up first.
IF they are just a regular driver looking for slightly better braking capability compared to stock, the Rapid Stop pads will do just fine.
Cheers.

New pads
So finally the cause of the screeching sound from my discs are in fact from the pads itself.
The warning tab of the pads are scratching against my disc.
PHEW !!
I thought for once my disc are screwed.
Got a replacement pads today.
I depart from my usual 550C Rapid Stop pads to give this Pumatec 680C pads a try.
Now I confidence in super hard braking is back knowing the pads are actually the cause of the sound.
A review will come up soon once my pads are past its run in period.
Stay tuned.

Replacement is nigh...
This is similar to what I am running on now.
Hopelessly terrible condition.

Have no choice but to bring forward my project by a few months.
Time to send these to for a makeover.

Unfortunately I would have to leave my baby there unless I can get a spare set of knuckle.
Hmm....
Or alternatively I can buy a replacement rotor first?
Decision decision decision..
Not forgetting I am still hunting for my rubbers..
Sigh..

[Review] Sneak Peek of some new addition
My absorbers is due for a change and I am contemplating to stick with stock or go over to the dark side, namely adjustables kit.
I sort of made up my mind to stick with stock and unfortunately my "bro" has to tag me in Facebook on the same day I made up my mind.
=.=

I spent the whole day staring at it and in the end, the heck with it, over to the dark side I shall go.
So out with the old...

...and in with the new...

... Improve Hyperflex Adjustable Suspension Kit.
A complete review will come up after I am done fine tuning the car.
It will be soon.
Stay tuned.

Last Wednesday was a mad mad day for me.
5k plus gone in a flash.
Literally.
What have I done?
I brought air tickets to Australia for my parents.
3k gone just like that.
Then my car is in need of a suspension make over.
Co-incidentally that particular morning I was contemplating of changing my suspension after work.
It was indeed true.
My bro-in-crime literally poison me for the whole day till I could not take it anymore.
Went to see him straight after work to get this fix.
Another 2.5k gone just like that.

Cilaka Drex for the poison.
LoL.
Will post up more about that later.
Adios for now.

[Review] AutoSpa Touch-Up Paint
As some of you know, I brought a AutoSpa Touch-up Paint to touch up some of the scratches and stone chip on my car paint job.
So here it goes.
Initially the plan is to give my car a thorough wash.
BUT...
found out that my garden hose is out of commission.

Anyway, I just gave my car a quick wash concentrating on the area where I plan to test out the AutoSpa Touch-up paint.
This is how the combination look like. The brush and the paint.

To use this, you have to
- Shake thoroughly before applying
- Make sure the surface area is CLEAN and DRY
- Apply the paint with a brush/toothpick on the scratched surface and wait 30 minutes for the paint to dry
Now the problem here is, I did not look up on how to apply this touch-up paint properly. I just go with my feeling.
It only came to me once I have done the first spot.
DOH !!!!
Anyway this is the before shot.
Front passenger door strip

Front passenger fender

Lightly dip the brush into the paint and then I apply it slowly by just touching or light brushing over the scratch surface.
Took me 5 minutes to complete this 2 spot as I readjust the paint work using the brush.
This is the after shot.
Front passenger door strip

Front passenger fender

A closer look of the 2 location.

So from what I have done so far, I am pretty satisfied with the product but I am not satisfied with my handiwork.
Maybe it will be better the next time on a different car? Wait for my review as I am going to touch up a myvi pretty soon.
I would gladly recommend this to anyone who want to do their own touch up on their vehicle paint job.
As for now, I will ask uncle google to find out more on how I can improve my handiwork.
-Cheers-

No worries, I will post up a before and after job.
Stay tuned.
Will give it a try this weekend and see if I can cover the scratches all over my car.

@#%#$^#$^#^$#@@%#@!@$!@
I woke up in the morning, preparing to start the first day of work for the year and I got a present.
KNNCCB cat decided to take a shortcut across my front bonet.

All the hardwork down the drain.
I hate cats.

And this is one of it.
Grrrrrr.

Kickstarting 2010
Nothing fanciful that I did to kick start the new year.
For once I will myself to go for a jog and go for a jog I did.
Going around the housing area where I live on foot on a quiet Saturday morning is indeed refreshing.
Managed to keep myself up to date on the development that is going on in my housing area.
Found out that there is a few units of Semi-D units being build nearby and managed to explore the inside of the house.
Unfortunately no picture as I did not bring my camera with me. Now who bring a camera along for a morning jog?
LoL
Nothing much happened. Just that I spent the rest of the day working on my car. It's been a long long time since I actually pay this much attention to her.
Gave her a good thorough wash, a good thorough vacuum and a good thorough wax and polish.
The end result?
Nice leh... LoL

After that, I was knocked out until the next day.
LoL
